Hi everyone I was so sorry to miss the reunion but we were right in the middle of selling our house and moving. I guess I should introduce my family. I met my best friend Darrell while attending Dixie College in the summer of 1994, marrying in December of 1996. I was working as an accounts receivable staffer for a Home health service in St. George and continued to work there until I gave birth to our first son Travis (10). After completing an associate degree from Dixie College our family moved to Cedar City where my husband, Darrell, continued his education and later graduated. While in Cedar City, we welcomed another boy to our family Joshua (8). We then moved to Dayton Ohio when my husband accepted a position with the Department of Defense as an auditor. While in Ohio we had one more boy, Darren (5), and a girl, Melissa(2), to our family. We recently moved to Virginia where my husband is working for Ernst and Young. We love the adventures, we have found in the East, and enjoy going home to visit St. George when we can. I love staying at home with my children, who give me more ups than downs, and watching them grow and learn. There is always something to be done and I won't have it any other way.

Hey class of “93”! I can’t believe we are getting so old. Fifteen years has flown by. I still feel like I am 18, but the grey hair and wrinkles are catching up with me. Ha ha! Where do I start? After graduating from PVHS, I served my mission in England. I returned home in June of 96 and met my wife of 11 years, Vanessa, at Dixie College. I graduated from Dixie with my Associate degree and went on to Southern Utah University and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business/Marketing. I have three great kids Bo 8 years old (named after my great friend Bo Shaheen), Brielle age 5 and Bella age 1. We currently live in St. George, although we did move back east (Philadelphia) this past summer for a summer sales job. We absolutely loved Pennsylvania and had a great experience there. I have worked at St. George Truss Co. for the past 8-9 years and absolutely loved working with Russ Nielson. I’m now looking to go back to school and get my Master’s in secondary education, and follow in the footsteps of my parents and teach/coach at the high school level. I love being a dad, and I am still a sports fanatic. Go Cougs, Rams, Dodgers, and Lakers! My family and I love St. George, and hope to stay here forever if we can. I would love to keep in touch with all of you; here is our family blog barbenblast.blogspot.com or e-mail mikebarben13@yahoo.com
Kristen Nielson Brown
Nielson owns a trucking company he specializes in moving heavy equipment. I am a registered nurse. I work at Tosh (The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital). We specialize in "bone" surgeries e.g. Total Hips, Total Knees, Shoulder surgeries, hands, feet, Back and Neck surgeries also. I work two days a month to keep my license current and to spend the rest of the time with my kids. I love my job and plan to retire from there.
We enjoy boating, waterskiing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, camping, hunting, snowmobiling, and being together as a family.
We own a small home in Bancroft, Idaho, where I often spent many summers, visiting family. We plan to fix it up and use it for vacation and family reunions.
I have been given many blessings in my life and I'm so thankful to be able to enjoy my health, family and friends.

Well, the past 15 years has come and looking back, I am so thankful for where I am today and hopefully who I am becoming. I ended up getting married to Skeeter Ellison whom I met at Dixie College after highschool. We dated for 6 years before we finally got married. During that time Skeeter played in the minor leagues and I acting like a 19 year old in every sense of the word. Then when we were 23 and going to get married we ended up serving missions. I was called to Boston, MA and Skeet to NY, NY North mission. It was soon after that we got married, had 3 children in 3 years and I have been running ever since. Our married life has taken us to 5 different states with work and 15 moves all together. I feel like I should go into moving others professionally. I love my husband, my sons Kai-61/2 Driggs-5 and Gus 3-1/2, playing in the dirt and planing our latest adventures. Skeet and I ended up finishing our Bachelors at Utah State which prepared me for moving to Rexburg, Idaho soon after (weather). We are back in Utah as of a month ago and just settling in getting ready for wresting to start. Skeet loves to hunt so we spend a lot of time camping and I picked up running a couple of years ago so we both support each other in our own goals. I am a full time mom, no downsizing here, no pay, plenty of job security and lots of rewards. I am so thankful.
Making it to the reunion was so great this year. I really enjoyed seeing everyone and just knowing we are all moving ahead and really doing the best we can. Hopefully all keeps going in that direction for us all.

I was sad to miss the reunion. This blog is great; it is fun to see what you have been up to throughout the past fifteen years. Fifteen years…I can’t believe it!
I graduated from Dixie College in 1995 followed by BYU in 1997. I absolutely loved my time at BYU. I met my husband, Brad Murray, through my roommate and Dixie High School Alum- Kami Rhoades. Brad and I were married in December of 1996 in the St. George Temple. I worked at DRMC in the accounting department for two years until we moved to Orem for Brad’s schooling.
When we moved to Orem, I was fortunate to be able to stay at home with my daughter, Amanda. Brad and I have four beautiful children – Amanda (1998), Emily (2000), Ethan (2004), and Kaytie (2006). We have lived in West Valley for the past 6 years and have a blast together. We are passionate about BYU football and as a result, fall is the favorite time of year in the Murray household. We enjoy camping, playing games together, soaking up the magic of Disneyland once in a while, and going on walks as a family.

My daughter Sydney was born June 14, 2000 and my son Parker was born February 28, 2005. We have lived in St. George exclusively except for a short 8-month stint in Salt Lake.
I have worked for St George Winlectric Co. for quite a few years and was promoted to Mesquite Winlectric Co. about 4 years ago. It has been a good opportunity even though I have to commute.
We love living in St. George and enjoy having extended family close by.

Starting preschool was a lot of work! At the end of the year (2005), I was looking forward to the following year to improve on what I had started when I learned that I was expecting twins. My husband, my family and I were surprised, shocked, elated.....you can imagine the emotions we went through --or maybe a few of you have experienced this miracle! At my 16 week appointment, we learned that they were likely identical and that one (Briana) would not survive. Our hearts were breaking and our children were so sad. I was on modified bed rest for the rest of my pregnancy, as we waited each week to learn that Briana had passed away and Abby would be okay. Briana never did pass away in-utero. I went into pre-term labor and my sweet baby twins were delivered at 26 weeks. Briana was born still and Abby lived for a short time.
Our twins birth and death changed me and my family forever. We miss them each day, but we were also blessed with a miracle–my sweet baby girl, Ella. Ella was born one year later and has brought a huge measure of joy to me, my husband, and my sweet children. We are reminded each day that life is precious, and we are so grateful for eternal families.
Life has a way of coming full circle! After spending three straight years pregnant, on bed rest, nursing, etc...life is busier than I had ever dreamed of! Many times during those years, I would wish I could just have a little normalcy back in my life...I got my wish! I now get to "pay it forward" and serve the women in my ward as a Relief Society President and I have started preschool again.
I can’t wait to see what life has brought my friends from high school!

In the fall proceeding high school I accepted a call to serve a mission in Boston Massachusetts. Since returning I have graduated from the University of Utah and joined the United States Marine Corps. While at the University of Utah I met amd married Sara Tarina Poulton from Chantilly, VA. We now have two children, James ( 4 yrs ) and Gabriella ( 18 months).
I have served one tour in Iraq and another tour in the middle east area. I have been the Officer-in-Charge of a Marine Logicstical Liaison detachment that is stationed 30 miles outside of Tokyo, Japan.
With the start of the new semester I will be continuing my education at Oklahoma University. I will be working on a double Masters program ( MBA and Human Relations ).

If I had thought the 13 years of school leading up to graduation were crazy times, the last 15 years have only been more surprising and exciting. Unfortunately, I have missed the 5 year and the 10 year reunions and will be missing the 15 year as well. Also, this is the first update biography I have given to just about anyone from our graduating class. So, I apologize if my 15 year update is more than you wanted to read. Significant events over the past 15 years include: 1) Chemical Engineering degree from University of Utah in 1997; 2) Married to classmate and fellow alum, Judy Toquero in 1997; 3) Move to Austin, Texas to start Law school in 1997; 4) Move back to Utah in 2007; 5) LDS Mission to Brasil from 1998-2000; 6) Married Emily Clark in 2001; 7) Birth of first child in 2001; 8) Birth of second child in 2002; 9) Law degree from J. Reuben Clark Law School (aka BYU) in 2003; 10) Moved to Cincinnati, Ohio as in-house counsel for Procter & Gamble in 2003; 11) Moved to Portland, Oregon as Associate Attorney with Kolisch Hartwell (law firm) in 2003; 12) Birth of third child in 2004; 13) Birth of fourth child in 2006; 14) Moved to Salt Lake City, Utah as associate attorney with Snell & Wilmer (law firm) in 2006; 15) Birth of fifth child in 2007; 16) moved to Houston, Texas as in-house counsel with ExxonMobil Corporation in 2007; 17) Preparing for birth of sixth child in 2008. Yes, that's right, 15 years and 17 significant events. I am starting to wonder if I have some form of absurd attention deficit problem where I need some enormous event at least once a year to keep things interesting. I am hoping that 2009 will be peaceful with only run of the mill events - but after 15 years of excitement - it kind of becomes run of the mill.
In a more serious vein, there are a couple of items in the above list that deserve a little more explanation. First, as I suspect many of you know already, our friend and my beloved wife Judy passed away in 1997 from a very bizarre illness that manifested itself in an even more unusual manner. While it was an incredibly difficult time, I learned a great deal from the experience. To put it in summary, the significance of the eternities became abundantly clear to me in very short order, which led to a complete change in priorities in my life. Second, 2006 was a more complex year than suggested by the above summary. My fourth child, Joshua, was diagnosed with anencephaly during the pregnancy (too complex to summarize adequately here). The anencephaly was severe and he did not survive the delivery process. During this time, I was grateful for my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the strength that comes therefrom. My wife, Emily, has also leaned heavily upon and grown her testimony through this experience.
So that the tragedies in my life do not become the only memory of me from this Biography Collection, I will note that I have also had the greatest joys in life and am exceptionally happy with where an apparently tumultuous life has led me. My four kids at home are great. We have been immeasurably blessed with talented children, safety, employment, and health (in all aspects but the two above). I still play soccer about once a week and it still provides the highlights of my life. I try to run a few times a week and am waiting for the right friend to challenge me to a half marathon or longer so that I actually lock in a training routine.
I am currently practicing in-house with ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company in Houston, Texas. We have been here for just over one year and really enjoying it. I continue to focus my practice on patent law and am particularly enjoying learning more about the oil and gas industry. My family is trying to get used to the weather in Houston - Hurricane Ike did not help that effort. Fortunately in the 36 hours before making landfall, Ike changed direction slightly to not pass directly over our house. Nonetheless, living through a hurricane is a new experience that really tests your faithfulness to the teachings of emergency preparedness. Being involved in the recovery efforts has also helped me to see charity of our church members in a manner I never would have suspected.
